Concept Study

Maison Civique explores how contemporary civic architecture can be embedded within a dense historic fabric without resorting to formal contrast.
The study investigates scale, rhythm, and material continuity as primary tools, rather than architectural expression.
Public functions are concentrated at street level, forming a sequence of accessible halls and reading spaces, while controlled archive and research areas are placed above. Daylight is introduced through internal courtyards and deep openings, allowing the building to balance openness with the environmental requirements of long-term storage.
