A modern, minimalist interior with a large, curved concrete staircase ascending to the right. Two people walk up, imparting a sense of scale and movement.

Foundry Cultural Exchange examines the adaptive reuse of a large-scale industrial structure into a public cultural institution.

The study is rooted in the retention of the existing building fabric, treating the original structure as a spatial framework rather than a backdrop.

New interventions are inserted as independent volumes within the existing shell, allowing old and new elements to remain legible. Public circulation follows the scale of the former industrial processes, creating a sequence of expansive halls and compressed transitions. Material choices are intentionally restrained, emphasizing contrast through proportion and light rather than surface treatment.
